Michigan Tech Huskies

  • 2001-03
  • Size 56 Bauer knit
  • WCHA 50th Patch
  • Two Color Numbers
  • Bauer and ProWear tagging in the neck..... Bauer logo embroidered directly on the back hem..... For the 2001-02 season, all WCHA teams added a patch celebrating the 50th anniversary of the WCHA (1951-2001) to the back of their jerseys. Michigan Tech left them on the home jerseys for the 2002-03 season as well..... Michigan Tech jersey sets starting in the 1990s were used generally for three seasons and typically show great wear if they are from a player that appears in most of the games. This jersey is no exception with lots of stick marks throughout, especially on the sleeves..... All of the numbers, including the back are done in two color sewn twill..... The name is done in black twill on a white nameplate..... Obtained directly from the team following the 2002-03 season.

    Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL)

  • 2005-06 Set #1
  • Size 54 Reebok/CCM knit
  • Cintas Sponsor Patch
  • Clay was a solid defender at Michigan Tech for four seasons. He racked up 57 points (17 goals, 40 assists) from the blue line and appeared in 148 games, missing only three during his time at MTU. When he left Tech, Wilson ranked 18th all time in scoring by a blueliner and was named the team's outstanding defenseman (2002-03, 2003-04). After several seasons Clay worked himself up from the UHL to the AHL and made his NHL debut with the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2007-08 season..... The season this jersey was worn, Clay started with 13 games in the UHL before moving on to Grand Rapids where he appeared in 60 games and posted 37 points (10 goals, 27 assists) in the regular season along with another 3 assists in 16 Calder Cup playoff games..... The jersey has light wear with a few board burns that have gone through the jersey..... The name (on nameplate) and numbers are three color sewn twill. The white twill is outlined first by red and then an even narrower navy colored twill outline..... As with all AHL jerseys that season, there is a MeiGray patch sewn inside the back hem, so it is not visible from the outside..... Obtained from the MeiGray Group in July 2006.

    Portland Pirates (AHL)

  • 2006-07 Set #1
  • Size 56 Reebok Air-knit
  • GPM Credit Union Patch
  • NHL Affiliate Anaheim Patches
  • GPM Credit Union patch..... Anaheim Ducks patches on both shoulders..... Reebok patches on the back hem and just below the neckline..... MeiGray patch sewn inside the back hem..... This set wasn't worn very long because although Clay appeared in 79 games that season the overall the wear is light..... Wilson put the playing time to good use however as he led the team in scoring (9-34--43), a rare feat for a blueliner..... All numbers and letters have a base layer of "glacier twill", white for the sleeves, and black for the back numbers and name (on nameplate). The two outer colors for the numbers are just sewn twill outlines..... This jersey was selected in person from the racks of the MeiGray Group offices in July 2007.

    Portland Pirates (AHL)

  • 2007-08 Set #1
  • Size 56 Reebok Edge 1.0
  • McDonald's Sponsor Patch
  • Anaheim Cup Champion Patch
  • This jersey celebrates the parent club Anaheim Ducks' 2006-07 Stanley Cup championship with a patch on the back hem..... Reebok patches on the back hem and just below the neckline..... MeiGray patch sewn inside the back hem..... May be recycled because Clay only played 14 games for the Pirates that season before he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets system which landed him in Syracuse with the Crunch..... The jersey has a few unrepaired holes in the sleeves and clearly shows a nameplate change (the previous nameplate was slightly wider and was positioned lower)..... All numbers and letters have a white base layer of "glacier twill", and the two outer colors for the numbers are just sewn twill outlines, black on red..... This jersey was selected in person from the racks of the MeiGray Group offices in July 2009.
