Lake Superior State University

Mitch spent two seasons with the Huskies, before moving on to Lake Superior State University. Although no longer in a Huskies uniform, I was was able to see Mitch play again at the 1995 Great Lakes Invitational when LSSU was the invite team that season..... These jerseys have often been debated as to how many actually exist. During this era, either two sets of these alternate jerseys were produced or a few were added at a later date to the first set which were not exact duplicates. This jersey with the lack of Aaron's tagging on the hem and only a flag tag in the neck, could be the later of the later of the two options..... One other unique feature of this jersey is that the "a" and "e" in "Lakers" are actually switched and are both sewn on upside-down. An example of other jerseys from this set can be seen here. This jersey is an example of how blind luck can often help you find another jersey. While searching the internet for photos of Mitch Lane during his college playing days, the Google search engine provided a link to a thread at the USCHO.com fan forum where users were discussing which college jerseys they had in their collection, including this Mitch Lane jersey. After a few quick emails a deal was struck and we obtained this jersey from a private collector in March 2007.
