  • Although small in stature, no one could doubt Chris Connors leadership of the Huskies during his four years in Houghton. Some of his college highlights include:

    2002-03 Finished second on the team in total points (37). Earned Norbert Matovich Memorial Award as team’s top freshman. Named WCHA Rookie of the Week for the periods ending 10/19 and 1/25.....

    2003-04 Led team in total points (39) and goals (25). Set MTU single season record with 8 shorthanded goals and tied the second-best total single season in NCAA history and most since 1997. All-WCHA Second Team Choice. Received Merv Youngs Award as team MVP. Named Hockey Commissioners Association National Division 1 Player of the Month for October. Named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending 10/27 and 1/12. Third-Team All-America pick by InsideCollegHockey.com.

    2004-05 Led team in goals (14). Earned team’s Harold Meese Sportsmanship Award. Listed by InsideCollegeHockey.com as one of the Top 10 candidates for the 2005 Hobey Baker Award. Preseason All-America Second Team pick by InsideCollegeHockey.com. Named Best Player in WCHA by InsideCollegeHockey.com in 04-05 College Preview.

    2005-06 Led team in overall points (29) and goals (17). Left Michigan Tech with 69 career goals and 60 assists, 35th overall in MTU record book. His 69 goals were good for 19th overall among MTU leading goal scorers. Set MTU record with 15 career Shorthanded goals.

    2006 ACQUIRED Singed to an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO) by Iowa on 3/15. Made Pro debut on 3/15 vs. Manchester and recorded his first Pro point, a goal, vs. Barry Brust. 2006-07 ACQUIRED Signed by Dallas Stars to a two-year contract on 7/13. Made NHL debut vs. Edmonton Oilers, recording 10:48 of ice time and three shots on 12/8. Registered first career NHL point, a goal, in Dallas' 5-4 win at Colorado (Jose Theordore) on 12/27. Notched first career NHL assist at Edmonton on 1/4. Selected by Iowa Stars Hockey Operations as Stars Rookie of the Year. Ranked first among all Iowa rookies, 28th among all AHL rookies and fifth overall on team in points with 37. Was 21st in AHL and tied for first on Iowa in GWG (5). Led Iowa and was 17th in the AHL in First Goals (6). Finished second on team in PPG (6). Obtained from MeiGray Group in June 2007.
